How do I go about choosing a design?
You may choose to have a consultation in person or virtually, via email & phone. Most of our clients choose have virtual consultations or place their orders via
or phone. If you are wanting to place an order for a wedding cake, it may be easier to have an in-person consultation. When designing a cake, you will need to decide what flavor cake, filling and icing you want. You will also need to think about what style cake you want, your budget and how many servings you will need. Prior to your consultation, we will start with a brief Q & A with basic questions about your party: budget, servings, theme, location, etc. Once we have enough information to go on, we will provide you with some cake designs that fit your style and serving requirements. During your design consultation we will select a design that you like and continue to polish it until you have the cake you want. If you have photos of cakes that you like, we can use them as inspiration to create your cake. Out of respect for other cake designers, we prefer not to duplicate their work and to provide you with a unique cake of your own.

What if I don't want fondant?
Fondant is a sugar dough that is rolled out like pie dough and draped over the buttercream iced cake creating a smooth finish. Fondant can be tinted any color and flavored to compliment your cake. There are a lot of people who say that they do not want fondant...you're not alone! Most people think that they do not like fondant for a few different reasons. Usually it's because that's what they've heard, they've tried it & didn't like it, or they simply don't want to pay the extra cost. We get it...really! However, there are some designs that cannot be achieved without it. One very important thing to keep in mind, is that fondant is a very tiny part of a slice of cake. If cut properly, every slice of cake should only have a small amount of fondant on it. If it's a cost thing, then there may be alternatives for your design, just ask us. If it's a taste thing, then we would LOVE the opportunity to prove that fondant can be delicious! You do not have to choose the store bought, out of the box fondant. We can flavor our fondants with all types of extracts, and natural ingredients, such as freeze dried fruits and chocolate.
